here better than the fabulous City of Deadwood, South Dakota? The scene of the final game....and the final resting place of Wild Bill Hickok.

The painting was unveiled mid-afternoon August 2nd, 2006 on the steps of the Deadwood Chamber of Commerce offices. In attendence were Mayor Francis Toscana, Mr. Joe Hamm, the Events Coordinator for Deadwood and several invited guests and dignitaries.

It was essential to give this wonderful piece of art a proper birthplace and the pedigree it so rightly deserved. The official unveiling took place 130 years to the hour that the nefarious Jack McCall took the life of one of the West's more colorful and enduring characters, Wild Bill Hickok.

Mr. David Johnston, the model used as the principal figure for the painting, was on hand to celebrate the moment as were Ronda-Lee Rathwell and Rod McLeod, all from Calgary.
